About the Piece

Concepts of Healing explores the nonlinear, often frustrating nature of emotional recovery. Built around an internal collage titled Endless Cycle, this piece layers meaning even in its subtleties. While the collage itself is less prominent visually, its presence is intentional—representing the persistent, looping inner dialogue that underlies our attempts to move forward. The collage can stand on its own, but here, it becomes part of something larger—a reflection of how small truths often fold into greater realizations.

The final piece consists of three separate panels that “float” within the frame, creating physical and conceptual space between each stage of the healing process. This suspended structure represents the transparency we owe ourselves in moments of growth, as well as the disjointed steps we take to get there. At the heart of the work is a recurring phrase: how was your experience?—posed not as a genuine inquiry, but as a rhetorical, almost mocking refrain. It’s a reminder that healing isn’t always graceful or complete. It's repetitive, messy, and deeply personal.
